Theories of Life

The topic of this lesson is the theories of life and is intended for grade 7. This lesson meets NJCCCS:5.1.8.A.1 (Science 2009). The essential/question of thuis lesson is to have the student describe the experiments of Franesco Redi and Louis Pasteur and discuss the the theories of life of Miller and Urey and the discoveries of Robert Ballard. The student will be able to compare and analyze these theories of life. The purpose of this lesson is to enable the student to understand the importance of knowing where life came from and how this knowledge relates to understanding of life on Earth today.
